*I wanna thank Penguin group and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This doesn't effect in any way on my opinion on book*
Warcross is a book about Emika. She is a hacker. She is a hunter.  She is just an ordinary girl. But this story is about Hideo too. Hideo is just THE person who created Warcross, the best game ever. And he chose Emika for a very special task. But will their relationship be just business, you will have to read the book to find out ;)

For the millions who log in every day, Warcross isn’t just a game—it’s a way of life. The obsession started ten years ago and its fan base now spans the globe, some eager to escape from reality and others hoping to make a profit. Struggling to make ends meet, teenage hacker Emika Chen works as a bounty hunter, tracking down players who bet on the game illegally. But the bounty hunting world is a competitive one, and survival has not been easy. Needing to make some quick cash, Emika takes a risk and hacks into the opening game of the international Warcross Championships—only to accidentally glitch herself into the action and become an overnight sensation.

Convinced she’s going to be arrested, Emika is shocked when instead she gets a call from the game’s creator, the elusive young billionaire Hideo Tanaka, with an irresistible offer. He needs a spy on the inside of this year’s tournament in order to uncover a security problem . . . and he wants Emika for the job. With no time to lose, Emika’s whisked off to Tokyo and thrust into a world of fame and fortune that she’s only dreamed of. But soon her investigation uncovers a sinister plot, with major consequences for the entire Warcross empire.(source:goodreads)

There is no single thing I didn't like about this book. Writting style was amazing and characters felt so real and magnificient in every way. Emika is just badass. She hacks, she hunts, she is actually using her brain the right way. And I always like the strong females in books of any kind. Emika is someone who fights for herself but it's also someone who thinks about others, which is really nice. Actually she is some kind of sci-fi Katniss. I think that we always need more characters like that in ya literature,so I was happy Emika is among them.

Everyone has a different way of escaping the dark stillness of their mind.

The world building was astonishing. The whole idea of Warcross is unimaginable. The whole concept of  reality under reality is so refreshing and exciting and I liked it a lot! That was the best part of this book, finding out how Warcross functions and how it effects other people, how it changes peoples lives. And it was the most thrilling part of the book. I enjoyed every moment where the decription of it was.
But,Hideo,as the creator of the game,is just exciting and thrilling as the Warcross. He is mysterious, charming, and kind, but he is also troubled. I will not spoil it,but his past is tough and it will cost him. But he is really good with Emika and I did liked their relationship. Even though Hideo is just her boss in the beginning and her only task is to catch Zero, everything changes in short time and I promise your heart will melt.
What I also liked was character of Ash. We rarely see a person in wheelchair who is fierce and strong and leader above all. And to me,as a person in a wheelcher,it means a lot. We definately need more persons with handicaps in ya books.

They believe that objects have souls. The more love you put into one, the more beautiful it becomes.

Overall, this was an amazing journey. I enjoyed walking through Warcross with Emika, swoon at the relationship between Emika and Hideo, enjoyed the mystery who Zero is (even though it was predictable) and enjoyed the action within this book. I laughed,I cried,I felt heartbroken, but it was all worth it. If you love sci-fi with good action and admiring characters then this book is for you! Welcome to the Warcross.

I write young adult novels, and have a special love for dystopian books. Ironically, I was born in 1984. Before becoming a full-time writer, I was an Art Director at a video game company. Now I shuffle around at home and talk to myself a lot. :)
