The Love letters of  Abelard and Lily is a book about two extraordinary teens falling in love. This is a book about love, about courage, about accepting who you are. And above all,it's a book that shows us that even though you're are different, you are lovely and loved just the way you are.

When Lily Michaels-Ryan ditches her ADHD meds and lands in detention with Abelard, who has Asperger’s, she’s intrigued—Abelard seems thirty seconds behind, while she feels thirty seconds ahead. It doesn't hurt that he’s brilliant and beautiful.

When Abelard posts a quote from The Letters of Abelard and Heloise online, their mutual affinity for ancient love letters connects them. The two fall for each other. Hard. But is it enough to bridge their differences in person?

This hilarious, heartbreaking story of human connection between two neurodivergent teens creates characters that will stay with you long after you finish reading.(source:goodreads)

I really liked this book. It was written beautifully, and the writting style just makes you want to read more and more. Characters were amazing and they got under my skin. Abelard is so cute, smart and kind. And yes, sometimes it can be hard talking to him or touching in him in real life. But when he talks to Lily through SMS he turns into Romeo. I like that this book shows us that looks are not the crucial thing to fall in love to someone. Abelard is pretty, but it's hard to touch him,so his brain is what makes Lily to fall in love with him. Also,I love how the book is what connects them. It's such a beautifull aspect of the book. Character of Lily is developed very well and I like that. I like that she is fierce and not at all ordinary. Although, she did get annoying in some parts of the book,I still liked it. And I really liked their  relationship. They both were supportive to each other and they understood each other which is really important to both of them. That is the relationhip to look up to.

When it comes to their parents.... they were awful. I don't know which parents I hated more.
Lily's mother didn't understand her at all and she was forcing her to do things she didn't want to. And even though she has ADHD that doesn't mean she can't decide for herself.
And her father leaving them... it happens a lot for father or mother leave the family who have kid with special needs. I know it was realisticly written but I still hated to read about it. I saw that happen in my life too often and it was sad to see that in book. But her sister were amazing to Lily, and that warmed my heart.
Abelard parents,on the other hand, were acting like Abelard is a child.  And that is the wrong aproach. Just because he can't express himself doesn't mean he is a child. So both aproaches were wrong and that did bothered me,but that happens in real life too,so I understand the point it has in book.

Overall,I think everyone should read this book. It's such a lovely and charming love story about two different children who want to feel love. And it will melt your heart and it will leave you heartbroken, but when you meet Abelard and Lily you will not regret one minute spending with them. Not one minute. Because they will grovel in your heart and stay there forever.
