A list of cages

" Superheroes aren't real, and even if they are, they come too late."

*I wanna thank Disney-Hyperion and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This doesn't effect in any way on my opinion on book.*

A list of cages,by Robin Roe is THE book of 2017. It's a book about Julian,Adam and their very special friendship. But it's also a book about pain, about feeling unreal and above all - about stars.
It's really hard to write about what is this book because I don't want to spoil anything. But it's a book about friendship between Adam and Julian which started when Julian was assigned to Adam to help him with reading. After a few months, they got separated, and we see the way things are now, where they are not hanging out anymore. But then something happens and we see how their beautiful friendship grows again even stronger.

"When Adam Blake lands the best elective ever in his senior year, serving as an aide to the school psychologist, he thinks he's got it made. Sure, it means a lot of sitting around, which isn't easy for a guy with ADHD, but he can't complain, since he gets to spend the period texting all his friends. Then the doctor asks him to track down the troubled freshman who keeps dodging her, and Adam discovers that the boy is Julian--the foster brother he hasn't seen in five years.

Adam is ecstatic to be reunited. At first, Julian seems like the boy he once knew. He's still kind hearted. He still writes stories and loves picture books meant for little kids. But as they spend more time together, Adam realizes that Julian is keeping secrets, like where he hides during the middle of the day, and what's really going on inside his house. Adam is determined to help him, but his involvement could cost both boys their lives.(synopsis from goodreads.com)"

If I should say which character I loved more,I couldn't tell. They're both special in their own way.
We see how they grow from page to page and how they change and what's important, how this friendship changes them on so different ways.

"It's strange how many ways there are to miss someone. You miss the things they did and who they were, but you also miss who you were to them. The way everything you said and did was beautiful or entertaining or important. How much you mattered."

Julian is so real character. He has his own problems and I can't imagine how would someone in his situation feel, but I think it would be just like that. He broke my heart over and over. The whole time I wished I could hug him and my emotions drove me crazy all the time. And Adam is just a lovely character whom you must love.  He is so kind and nice and he cares so much about Julian it warms my heart. I loved that the book was written from both Julian's and Adam's point of view and that gave us an opportunity to see both of them in a real picture.

"Hate ricochets,but kindness does too."

I loved everything about this book. The writing, the characters, everything! I wish some things ended differently, but that's not something that bothered me that much. I just can't express my feelings about this book enough. It made me laugh,it made me cry,it crushed my heart and then healed it again. This will be the book I will recommend everyone just like it was the All the bright places. It's really important for everyone to read it,although I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone below 16 years old, because it's so hard, and some scenes are too much for someone who is younger than that. Otherwise,go for it. Your heart will be broken but it's worth it,it's totally worth it. Miss Roe,thank You for writing this magnificient book!
