What no one knows is the only reason Matt sells drugs is to take care of his uncle Jack, who is dying of cancer.
Meet Amanda. The overly cheerful social outcast whose optimism makes Matt want to hurl. I loved this book SO MUCH! Everything was just a spot on and everything was perfect. The characters, the story, the writing style, everything! It was full of love and friendship.
Matt is a guy who takes care of his uncle who has cancer. And he is doing it by selling drugs. Buying medicine and watching after his uncle takes all of his time and that's why he can't succeed in school, although not 100%. But he always have 60%,and that's how he got his nickname. Even though everyone in school knows him,he is alone. But not for long. After he is being conditioned to attend an after school club,he meets Amanda who wants to help others. And that means she is determined to help Matt too.
You never know when something you say to Jack... is going to be the last thing you say to him.
What I liked most about this book is that there is NO ROMANCE at all! It has pure friendship and it's wonderful to find that in ya book. Also,Amanda is just so,so sweet. She is always there for Matt, even when he doesn't want it. She even helps his uncle. And I think she is just a perfect friend everyone should have. And she is so confident! She's a big girl, but that doesn't stop her. And it doesn't stop Matt to be friend with her. Which just shows how sweet Matt is. Also,I think it's really important to say that this book is so realistic it hurts. But I kinda love it,because it's important to have this kind of books.
“Matt … that’s sweet. But I don’t think it’s going to make any difference.”
“Fine. If that doesn’t work, then I guess I can always beat the shit out of somebody in there.”
Amanda looked surprised, then giggled.
“That’s actually what I felt like doing.”
Matt grinned.
“Feels good, right?”
He walked back to the car, took Amanda by the hand and pulled her toward the entrance.
“Come on, we can at least try.”
They walked toward the front doors together.
Anyhow,I enjoyed this book so,so much and I would reccomend this book to anyone who loves a book with realistic theme and who loves a book with zero romance. It's heartbreaking, the characters are adorable, and the friendship is to die for! It's fast paced and I guarantee you - there is no way you won't read this book in one sitting and there is absolutelly no way you'll not love it.
