The Eternity Elixir is a book about Gordy - a child with extraordinary power. It's about how he becomes the hero and saves the world. It's about magic.

Twelve-year-old Gordy Stitser is one of the few people who knows the truth about the secret society of potion masters, because not only is Gordy’s mom on the Board of Ruling Elixirists Worldwide (B.R.E.W.), but she has also been training Gordy in the art of potion-making.

Gordy is a natural, and every day he sneaks down to the basement lab to invent new potions using exotic ingredients like fire ant eggs, porcupine quills, and Bosnian tickling juice.

One afternoon, Gordy receives a mysterious package containing an extremely rare potion known as “The Eternity Elixir.” In the right hands, the Elixir continues to protect society. But in the wrong hands, it could destroy the world as we know it.

Now, sinister potion masters are on the hunt to steal the Eternity Elixir. It’s up to Gordy, his parents, and his best friends, Max and Adeline, to prevent an all-out potion war.(source:goodreads.com)

The Eternity elixir is a book I enjoyed pretty much. It was refreshing and I think I've never read anything like it.
If you wonder what I liked about it,there is so many things I don't know where to start.
I liked the writing style. It was fast pacing and I'm sure this book can be read in one day. The story was flowing perfectly and all felt so natural, even though this book was about magic.
World building was done okay. I wish there was more of it,because I think it's pretty complex and that there are some questions unanswered, but I guess more will be explained in other books of the series.
I liked how potion comunity in this world had effect on humans and how they helped people to grow in any way.
I also liked how all characters were written. Although,I wish there was more characterization, but I still liked (almost) all of them.I wish that villains were more evil. I just think they were too good for villains. I know there will be more books, and I know this is the book for kids, but I still missed a good old villain - like Voldemort or Dolores Umbridge. And I must say,my favorite one was Bolter! I also can't wait to read more about Gordy's grandfather. I think there is a lot more to discover about him.
The story was awesome. I liked all the magic that surrounds  potion community and all scenes of fighting were full of adrenaline and they made my heart racing.

Overall,if you love a good middle grade action book full of good characters and magic and insanily good story - then this is the perfect book for you! You will have your heart racing when Gordy's fighting, you will go on adventure with him and I'm sure you will have a desire to go back in this magical world!
